Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes!
This is one of those fanboy moments for me: the excellently done manga Highschool of the Dead is getting an anime adaptation, and the manga is officially ending its one-year hiatus, according to the folks at Moonphase. Illustrated by Satou Shouji and written by Satou Daisuke, this is a series that I loved enough to dedicate my all to reading it in Japanese.
The series follows a group of teenagers who, while in the middle of a day at high school, get caught in a zombie outbreak, and are doing their all to survive. Heavily influenced by Western zombie flicks, the kids take charge and engage in a smart plan to try and survive, as opposed to the typical horror film plot. The series is a little heavy on the fanservice for gun nuts and breast enthusiasts, as just about every girl has a DD cup.
Why should you like this? Because it's going to be like Black Lagoon, but with zombies. It's that level of ass-kicking. And if the studio (hopefully Madhouse or Brain's Base?) manages to keep the intense level of detail from the manga present in the anime, then it's going to be a jaw-dropper as well.
Oh god, I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. This is my biggest fanboy moment all day!
