Somewhat spolier-ish, so play at your own discretion
Ever since the Lucky Star OP craze, hand-drawn parodies of anime openings have been posted on Nico Nico Douga in ever increasing numbers. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai's opening, "Naraku no Hana", has been a quite popular choice to parody recently, and this one using characters from Shigesato Itoi's Mother 3 (part of the Earthbound series) is particularly well done (though lacking plays and comments). Be sure to watch until the end, as there's a hint at what the author's next project will be.
If you've played the game you'll need to break out the tissue since some of the scenes from the game which were used will bring tears to your eyes. If you have a GBA or DS and can read Japanese (the text is completely hiragana/katakana, so no need to worry about kanji), we would highly recommend playing the game if you haven't already — Play Asia has the game on sale for the very nice price of $14.90, but the deal only lasts a few more days, so act fast. You'll make the rabid Earthbound fans at Starmen.net very happy.
