I’m going to go out on a limb and say that one of the dreams of every otaku has to be starring in a Japanese magazine, similar to the dream of being a Dragon Ball Z villain. Thanks to Famitsu and Otaku USA, Zero-Chan and I can now cross this off our otaku bucket list. However, we are lucky, as there were many other otaku -- including Zac Bentz -- that were vying for the top spot in Famitsu heaven; they were unfortunately left behind (like the popular novel and video game).
Let me back up for a second and explain to you all why we are in Famitsu magazine. In this latest issue, Famitsu was going to run an “Otaku All Over The World” article, and needed some of these aforementioned people to grace its pages. Thusly, they asked a Mr. Patrick Macias, Editor in Chief of Otaku USA, to gather up a strong party of his editors to partake in this survey. We were to list our top five anime, top five Japanese video games, and our favorite characters of each (though they left that part out). That’s basically it. I woke up on the street naked and saw my photo in a Famitsu magazine, and the world seemed a little brighter after that.
Famitsu issue 1044 is supposed to officially hit Japanese shelves on December 19, so let us all head over to our nearest Japanese magazine depot and camp out, because it’s the right thing to do.
