How to use moe to hook some octopus in three easy steps

Step 1: Find some moe (or alternatively, a cool red Zaku) and make sure she's wearing something red

Step 2: Tie her up to some hooks and fishing line

Step 3: Reel in the octopus

These are the three easy steps that a certain someone in apparently Akita prefecture follows in order to bag his reward. I wasn't sure what to make of this when I first saw images (gallery section) on YaraOn, but a quick jump over to Kotaku revealed that there is actually some sort of creative reasoning behind it. You see, the fisherman believes that by using red figures, he is fooling the octopus into thinking they're crabs.

I honestly have no idea whether it really works or not, or even if it's real, but I needed to share this with all of you. Even if it doesn't work, I feel this is an appropriate use of Rei Ayanami figures.
