Hunt like a pirate with Monster Hunter 4's new Jump armor

Don't you love it when the power of convenience benefits a series that you adore dearly. In this case, Monster Hunter 4 is going to get the Jump treatment again by having a pirate themed armor that lets you tap into your inner captain.

Just the idea of having a Felyne with a hook and helm is enough to sell me on this new armor set, along with the way how the hunter's gear is basically an armored pirate captain -- that cape and hat are looking mighty swell. Aside from that, the Felyne set will go great with having a commander during the team attack that summons the special tank. While we won't have the chance to hunt in the scurvy seas, hunters will use their swashbuckling skills to climb on the monsters that hold your precious booty.

Now that I think about it, if Monster Hunter 4 were to ever go west, there's a possible chance that Capcom will take the same route as Tri by having an art contest to determine a new design for the special armors. If that happens to be the case, I might look forward to the new designs, since I prefer Tri's western special weapons over the original Japanese ones.

Whatever the case may be, you can sail into the artwork and in game models of the equipment in the gallery below.

See that sweet scene up in the header? That's the frankly awesome-looking character-select menu from Dragon's Crown, a game worked on by Vanillaware and its lead artist George Kamitani. Cool menus like that don't come from ju...
