Hunter x Hunter movie hits cinemas this JanuaryWe heard about the Hunter x Hunter movie a while back, but I'm not sure anyone figured we'd see it so soon. Soon in animation terms at least, as you'll still be waiting until January 12th for it to grace the cinemas in Japan. The film, titled Hunter x Hunter: Phantom Rouge, is an original story set to feature the Phantom Troupe and the Kurta clan. Will this serve as a prequel to the series, showing us exactly how the events that caused Kurapika to lose his family actually panned out? There's plenty to speculate about, as details are still pretty scarce. What I'm wondering is whether it could possibly have been released sooner. I've never read the manga, but it certainly seems like the anime is building up to the introduction of the Phantom Troupe. It would definitely be sensible for the film to wait until the series is past this arc before release, but again, pure speculation. Still, I can't wait! [via MAL] Did you know?
