Hunters rejoice, Monster Hunter 4 reveals a new bug photo

Looking for a new way to hunt down monsters? Well, you are in luck because Monster Hunter 4 introduces an interesting new weapon that will fill your game with bugs. Known as the Misaomushi Cane, players will have the ability to control their own insect that has the ability to drain energy from monsters. Depending on the energy that your bug drains, you will be rewarded with different types of buffs.

At the moment, players can get an attack boost if it's red, a health boost if it's green, a defense boost if it's orange, and a speed boost if it's white. Whether the buffs stack up or not will depend on future updates related to the game. However, I think that these power ups will stack up with the benefits from eating a meal or using potion buffs.

Other than the new weapon, Monster Hunter 4's Felyne partners will get to perform team attacks, which will open up to new combat options. Though I hope that Cha-Cha makes a return in the new installment as well. If that's not enough to get you excited, then you will be glad to hear that game's story will involve a new monster known as the Goa Magara.

Let's hope Capcom considers localizing Monster Hunter 4 in the west, since the series has the potential to grow after Monster Hunter Tri attracted many new players to the franchise. If anything, they can skip Tri G and focus on giving the western version of Monster Hunter 4 online play, which will aid in the game becoming one of the most played games on the 3DS. Until we hear some more news, you can check out the new images right after the jump.
