By this point I'm sure you all know how I feel about Imageepoch's upcoming HD 2D animation RPG, Tokitowa. In screens it looks fantastic, but in motion I'm left wanting. It certainly doesn't help that the in-game character designs pretty much ignore Vofan's (Bakemonogatari) beautiful artwork. Why hire such a fantastic artist if you're not going to at least try to get the in-game assets to match? Oh well. I really want to want this game, so hopefully Imageepoch can prove me wrong.
I do recognize however that there are a few of you out there who are really excited about this game, so with that in mind I bring you good news. Kay Hirono, Tokitowa's producer over at Namco Bandai, indirectly confirmed that Japanese and English language releases of the game are in the works. How did this slip? At the 2012 Comic Convention in Taipei, he was asked if Tokitowa would see a Chinese release. Looks like somebody might have accidentally let the cat out of the bag.
I'm wondering if we're going to see any censorship on the title considering some of the rather sexual shots that have been released for the game.
