I don't really understand the PS Vita's first commercial

Now, you could watch the commercial below and argue that there's not all that much to understand besides the platform's release date (December 17th in Japan), and the text that says "The Future of Video Games is Changing".

But what's with the guy on the bike? And the ground collapsing? Does it have to do with the rear touch screen?

If it were up to me to create a fifteen-second stinger spot for the Vita, I'd show off a pair of towering, skyscraper-sized DUAL ANALOG STICKS, with the text "NOW WITH TWO OF THEM, GUYS, AIN'T THAT AWESOME?!".

And then the Vita logo.
