It seems like I go on a weekly rant in defense of the Japanese and their youthful looks. As soon as I pass along a hot image of a Japanese idol or actress, roundeyes are quick to reply with something like "She looks 12-years-old!" or "jailbait!" despite these women being known, fully grown stars in Japan. The last time it happened I went on a crazed rant about the anthropological reasons behind their looks, even touching on genealogy research and such.
Poor Aki Hoshino. Aside from her most famous assets, she's also known for looking quite young, despite being 32 years of age. And it was those young looks had her held up at the door of a Macau casino.
A group of Japanese tourists saw the whole thing:
“It was shortly after noon, at one of those casinos on the main street. She was obviously looking like a celebrity wearing a sexy, low-cut dress, and she was with someone who appeared to be her manager. All the other Japanese tourists with me recognized her. But for some reason, she was being denied entry into the casino."
Desperate, Hoshino even pulled aside one of the Japanese tourists, pleading “You know who I am, right? Can you please tell them?”
According to the report on JapanToday, Hoshino's agency tip-toes around the incident: “She was mistaken for a minor because she looks younger than her age. She didn’t have her passport as she was on location… As far as we know, she wasn’t there to gamble but just needed to use the restroom in the casino.”
