If you need some TLC, RIBA robot nurse can help you out
by Colette Bennett, 08/27/2009

You know, it's easy to visualize yourself sick in bed while a super hot nurse in a white vinyl dress takes care of your runny nose, but let's face it: that's more a fantasy than a reality. If you'd like a gigantic adorable bear to take care of you though, that can happen -- at least if you live in Japan.

Meet RIBA, a robot developed by developed by researchers at Japan’s Institute of Physical and Chemical Research. Her name stands for “Robot for Interactive Body Assistance”. Pink Tentacle reports that RIBA is primarily used for lifting people out of their beds and she can lift up to 135 pounds. Also, she can recognize you if you speak to her or if she sees your face. Awesome or creepy? Hit the gallery to see a few more pictures of her in action.
