*slow clap*
Good job, Square Enix. They are proud to boast that out of the 30 some anime titles they've released in the last 8 years, they've lost no money. That's saying a lot, as anime isn't doing very well in general. Squeenix's producer Kouji Taguchi said that publishing anime is even easier than publishing games.
There are other interesting insights into the anime publishing business in this article on ANN. Taguchi talks about anime budgets. One episode could cost over $200,000 to produce. Their big dog, Fullmetal Alchemist, cost about $5.6 million in all to make. Damn.
Keep it coming, Square Enix. We'll watch it. Get that Kuroshitsuji 2 out.
