Akihabara News recently wrote a great article (and made a video) about their experiences with the newest Initial D Arcade game; bestowing the world with information regarding this great achievement in arcade history. Sega Joypolis in Odaiba invited Akihabra News to take a test ride in Sega’s newest Initial D Arcade game, Stage 4 Limited; which is a driving simulator that makes use of three mounted, car-like objects on a moving platform. As you might of already guessed, the three mounted cars are ones from the actual show; a Toyota Treneo, a Subaru Impreza WRX, and a Mazda RX7. Sorry to say, you can only play this version of the game at Sega Joypolis; the other ones do not have the realistic cars.
The tracks in Stage 4 are actually based off of real roads in Japan. But not only does it look like them, but also feels like them thanks to the moving platform’s feedback, and the feedback you receive through the steering wheel. This game really looks like a blast to play, in fact you can check out the video they made after the jump to see for yourself. If you are going to Japan, do yourself a favor and go to Sega Joypolis; and as a special bonus, you can play an arcade game there that is based off of 24 as well.
