iPad hits Japan; can we have our otaku apps now? photo

Japan finally had its iPad launch after suffering through short delay in production this week. We may have reported -- I'm not even sure these days, I'm getting terrible at remembering things -- that the tablet is being sold through Softbank and various other electronics retailers, as well as at Apple's 180 stores, littered throughout Japan. In addition to the wait, Japan's basic iPad model starts at a hefty 48,800 yen -- that's roughly $538.

Now that Japan has their iPads, can we get some dating sims or something? It really wouldn't hurt if there were more otaku-oriented apps out there. The vast majority of the pre-existing apps are still iPhone only -- not that the iPad can't run them, but some of those look really terrible when upscaled and even then, many of them aren't very good in the first place.

So developers, please take notice! Some of us will even pay for those (reasonably priced) apps!
