Because I wasn't there this week, no one stated the blatantly obvious: that new panties anime from Gainax is clearly the second coming of Chu-Bra!!. I can only hope to see my darling Komachi in a man bra sooner rather than later.

Otherwise, this episode is about anime that is terrible- like, even worse than the anime we complain about regularly. We're talking embarrassing, lamentable, indefensible, pitiful, downright putrid animated material here. Also: the dos and donts of cosplaying as a Narutard cosplayer, who is also in fact cosplaying. Come to think of it, since Dale reveals himself as a Narutard in this episode, technically you could cosplay as Dale in the act of cosplaying as someone cosplaying Naruto- which would mean you'd need one of those funky Konoha headbands, a $1 fish sandwich, and I would imagine a grand piano. The scary thing is, upon listening to this episode, the previous sentence will probably make perfect sense to you.

I loved InuYasha. It was the anime that got me into anime.
I'm actually afraid to watch it again. I'm afraid I might react like Karen as she did to Devilman.
But then again, I did stop watching InuYasha because I noticed that every episode was the same thing, over and over. I just don't want to shatter the illusion and nostalgia attached to it.

@nakiko Why? Then who will dub our video games? Sorry but I'd rather have a video game dubbed than never released here. Sadly North Americans are for the most part not very receptive to sub-only things, a fact we need to live with.

I didn't like this anime that much. Talks about terrible shows just depressed me. I'd rather hear about anime series that are so terrible that they become enjoyable, rather than just painfully bad shows.

Let's just wait and see for Pantsuto :) So far, I'm liking that they set it in the early 1900s - a period wherein women were extremely repressed and barely had any rights at all. A fanservice show in that period? Hell yeah, I'm up for it.

The setting of 20s-30s makes me wonder if the main characters are supposed to be flappers or something.

Just FYI, itunes feed seems to be busted - it's still on episode 14.

And yeah, Sherman clarified his position on the ANN podcast. His point was that the piracy of dubbed R1 anime, not fansubs, was damaging the American market.

Hand Maid May was great for a harem show while she was 1/6th scale but they went and made her full size and the cute level went downhill. The funniest thing was the location of her USB port. You can imagine!

Wow, for some reason this podcast feels rather antagonistic.
About the comment by hennaotoko on the subject of the guy supposedly blowing into the ear of that woman..... Umm, if they were in that situation where train car was packed and they were shoving people in, couldn't it be an instance where he just happened to be packed in behind her and well had to breathe? And that act of breathing(necessary for living, you know) happened to be on the ear of the woman he's behind? It could have been a misunderstanding. I'm just saying.
And about Shuffle!, it's probably the only series that said fuck you to retarded "first girl you meet rule". When the show started, you thought it would end with Kaede, Nerine, the daughter of god girl, or by a long shot Rimu, but the show rejected that standard. It wasn't that great, but it did something not new, but different.
Ikkitousen is garbage.

@Darksorrow29: I see your point, but keep in mind that everyone who voted for the top anime of the decade list isn't on the podcast- if you had a different group of Jtor editors, that could have been a very different discussion.

@-Moonlight- Actually, my feeling on Inu Yasha is that when it started (and I should say I started with the manga, not the anime) it was a good, workmanlike story with some very decent imaginative stories. My feeling was that the Naraku plot kind of interfered with the story telling.

I mean, remember the little girl's ghost who was causing problems and was being followed by the hmm... Soul Piper (I think it was called something different in the manga). Well, that was a pretty interesting story. There were a few like that, I thought Yura of the Hair was cool too, and Sesshomaru... well, then Naraku shows up...

I still liked the show though, but it wasn't the same.

That was probably the funniest podcast ever. The Haruhiki Crisp made me do a little laughter dance. I also have to agree with Dale, Shuffle is so terrible yet I love the first 11 episodes until the schizos, freaks and yanderes come out.

- My local Best Buy only has about 5 shows now sadly. Thankfully we have a 2nd Best Buy, albeit further away, that still has an impressive amount of anime.
- @Dale I'm the same way about anime. Once I'm watching an anime I generally find something to like about it. I may still rate it really low, but to some degree I'll like the show.
- @Tim @Colette Even though you didn't touch on J-Dramas really much at all in this podcast, I wanted to thank your for your continued discussion about J-Dramas. I love finding fellow J-Drama enthusiasts.
