This week, with Colette trapped in the Jdrama fanservice dimension (although perhaps 'trapped' is the wrong word...), I was the only woman on the podcast, however I was STILL the only one man enough to make a top ten list of my favorite anime openings. Go figure. In addition, with Jon Snyder also trapped in the fanservice dimension (presumably fighting Bizarro-Jon), Brad Rice came to the rescue with his knowledge of Japanese politics and sundry otaku things. You can listen to it here.
We also discuss our thoughts on Final Fantasy XIII, and whether or not Vanille is a special little snowflake; for better or for worse, you can expect more FFXIII discussion in future episodes. There's plenty more, because this is a really long episode that covered a lot of ground, so if you want to know more you'll just have to either:
a)Listen to the show
OR
b)Hit the jump for notes and things. In fact, why not do that right now?

Topic of the Week: OP sequences
0:51:23- I start with a top ten list of my personal favorite opening sequences, and Tim rains all over my sincerity parade with music snobbery, but I wouldn't expect anything less. While they might fail at list making, everyone chimes in with a few of their own favorites.

Currently Watching/Playing/Something
01:18:24- Final Fantasy XIII; the controversy of Vanille, sort of.

Omake:
01:42:33- Omake is also serious business this week; spoilers for Haruki Murakami's Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, best conventions for wild otaku sex.
Technical update: I now know why the feed hasn't been working, hence the Itunes problem. With any luck, both the feed and the Itunes subscription will be up and running properly before Episode 10 comes out *crosses fingers*

Also, I'm a-okay with hearing about video games that are topically appropriate. Although I'm probably more an anime fan than a game fan, I've had a much longer history with game-related websites and forums, because my general perception was that the gaming community gave better discussions than the anime community. I still tend to stick by that, though Japanator is one of the first anime-related websites where I felt compelled to comment with any frequency. If you drop any significant spoilers about FF13, though, I will be sad.
Anyway, I'll grab this when I get home and discuss it later. Cheerio!
