It's official, Japanator Radio is here!
Welcome to the inaugural episode of the first ever musical podcast from Japanator. What can you expect? Well frankly, not just anime music. Let's just get the out of the way right now. Oh sure, I'll be doing my best to keep the bases covered, but Jtor Radio is about much more than the latest OP and ED trends. (Although make sure to note the first song!) I hope to bring you all the indie stuff that falls through the cracks, as well as all of the latest singles and other major happenings on the world of Japanese music. With Jtor Radio I hope to prove to all the naysayers that the Japanese music scene is just as vital and creative, if not much more so, than that of the rest of the world.
Why me? Well first off, I've covered 165 bands in my ongoing ZB's A-Z of J-Music feature here on Japanator. I've been a voracious devotee of the Japanese music scene for many years now. I've also been a radio DJ for over eleven years, so I have a little experience in broadcasting and the art of sculpting an interesting show. Mostly it's because I have an unquenchable thirst to share this music with as many people as possible.
I am just one man, however, and Jtor is nothing without its constant readers. I want to urge you all to share your thoughts on the show. What could be better? What is missing? I'd love it if you'd fill the comments with recommendations and requests. Fell free to mock my horrible pronunciation. Scoff at the obviousness of my song selection. Lament at the lack of songs from obscure genre number 73. Above all, simply let me know what you think!
In addition to this first episode, I'll be posting the second one later this week just to get caught up with things. Then I'll be posting a brand new show for you every Monday morning. You'll have an entire week to bask in its limitless glory, and quake with anticipation for the next episode.
OK, you can download the first episode of Japanator Radio right here. The track list and other info is after the jump. A high volume setting is recommended for maximum enjoyment.
