Or, at least one guy is.
A few years back, I wrote a string of seven or eight articles calling attention to multiple cases of Japanese trash men and other authorities finding money in the trash. Like, good, usable money. And not just in one place, either: bundles of bills were found all over Japan, in dumps and refuse areas. The money dumping has calmed down since then, but now, all of the sudden, in a global recession, it returns.
Over 1 million yen ($10,840) in 10,000-yen notes were found at a garbage facility in Yamanashi Prefecture, says alafista. A 29-year-old worker at the facility came across the bills, and just like in those seven or so other cases, he called the police to inform them. Does he realize how much ramen and trading figures he could have bought?
Police are said to be searching for the owner of this lump of cash. Right.
I wonder if the money was put in the proper recycling bin.
