Japanese SPACE BEER! photo

Japan, always on the cutting edge of technology, has created yet another scientific innovation that's guaranteed to change the face of humanity: SPACE BEER! This new product, developed by Sapporo Breweries Limited, was brewed with hops cultivated in microgravity on the International Space Station. Tasters say the beer is delicious, and scientists say it demonstrates the viability of crop cultivation outside the Earth's biosphere. Space beer is paving the way for humanity's journey to the stars!

Unfortunately, only 1500 bottles of space beer are being made, meaning a taste of the final frontier will cost you a cool ¥10,000 ($110) per six-pack. If you feel like buying some, Sapporo is taking orders online. Otherwise, you'll have to make do with an ITN news report about the beverage, embedded below the jump.

Everything is better IN SPACE!

If my christmas shopping was already done, I'd have already ordered this. Sure it's something like $18 a bottle, but some people pay that much for a swallow of scotch and it's not even FOR SCIENCE!
A bit of a waste though, something that expensive you'd probably dare not drink it.
One shmall shtep fer man *hic*
It's still much cheaper than the $5000 bottles of wine they have at Total Wine.
What better way to further defile Christmas than to drink beer that came from space.
What does beer have to do with Christmas? O_O
Don't you know? Beer goes well with EVERYTHING!

Just ask Hommer Simpson.
