K-ON! college years manga to wrap up in June

5:00 PM on 05.07.2012 // Michelle Rodanes

Author Kakifly announced last week that one of his K-ON! spin-off manga will be ending this June 9th. Launched in April of last year on Manga Time Kirara Magazine, the series followed the adventures of a college-aged cast.

While the reasons behind the cancellation are not entirely clear, some speculate that fans weren’t really all that interested in the alternative timeline. This hunch is somewhat corroborated by the author confirming that he will continue to work on a second spin-off series, also launched last year, featuring the cast while still in High School.

Who else saw this coming? college spin-offs never work out, just look at what happened to Saved by the Bell.
