Oh don't tell me you didn't see this coming. If Durarara!! and Sora no Woto can get their own games, then moeblob phenomenon K-ON!! can get its own game.
And from the details released so far, it's going to be more game-like than either of the former two, which are closer to visual novels. Called K-ON!! Houkago Live ("K-ON!! After School Concert"), and its bound for the PSP this autumn.
As you can see from the screenshots above and in the gallery (courtesy Famitsu), it's going to be a rhythm game in the same vein as Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA, but obviously band-themed as opposed to idol-themed. It seems only fitting that this is coming from Sega, who also publish/develop the Miku games.
That said, I don't see as much potential here. I mean, the girls' song list isn't exactly voluminous, and there's only so far you can take getting crazy visuals and backgrounds, which so far only look like mimics of locations shown in the show itself. It'd certainly be playable, but the value proposition looks iffy. Personally I'd rather cough up dough for Dreamy Theater, the PS3 addon to Project DIVA that now has Dale in its inescapable grasp.
Not that true K-ON!! otaku would care. Do you see that picture of Azu-nyan?!?!! HHHHNNNNGGG-
