At any rate all this feedback to a killer might give him initiative to kill again and send this thing into a whole other level. With that said, I personally doubt he thinks hes Kira, but feels he can use him as a medium to plead insanity or just incorporated it for "fun". If the person killed did have a criminal record it would confirm that he indeed is crazy in the Otaku-rampager sense but that is doubtful because his style of killing (or possibly just arranging corpses) is different from Kira's in the manga. Either way its not us to decide of course, just speculation. The police will find this sloppy bastard eventually.

hmmm, this guy(or girl, im not sexist when it comes to homicidal maniacs) is probably out for attention, but seeing as s/he dismembered the bodies shows that s/hes sloppy...have the police examined the remains? they might be able to find saw marks or some other device that was used to cut apart the bodies, or as ShinigaMizuki asked if they looked for finger prints. also I just wanted to throw in that the cuts on the body parts were exact and the pieces showed signs of freezing. this is most likly the product of a sick joke conducted by medical students. This has given me an urge to read the 5 volumes that are stacked up on my bed :p Any whom, whoever is doing this, wherever they are, will most likely be caught. as has been pointed out there are a lot of factors which can be used to determine the culprit. If all the things that have been mentioned (DNA tests, Fingerprints on the letters) start turning up negatives, then we know it is Kira, but for know, I highly doubt it is him.

Excuse me, but if you cross reference the correct working hours of medical students from the local medical school with their blogs on the issue i expect youll find evidence towards one of them being the culprets.probably male and the bodys used for disection would be cleared of dna evidence and since no missing persons report was filed it also accounts for their lack of identity?

also,'L-san' i have every faith that these offences were NOT murders,a single person doesnt possess the right amount of equiptment to drain a corpse of dna evidence or clean the body so well. after a murder the murderer would leave the bodys intact and recognisable if this was possible,to inkeep with there kira persona, so clearly the 'kira' is merely an enthusiastic but sane person not a psycopathic killer.
