Koreans wage internet war upon 2ch, FBI on the case

Koreans wage internet war upon 2ch, FBI on the case photo

Well, when on the internet Korea and Japan seem to be perpetually at war, but a more severe blow was dealt against Glorious Server-Downed Nippon apparently after a group of South Korean netizens orchestrated a Denial-of-Service attack upon 2ch's servers, most of which are located in the US and run by San Francisco-based Pacific Internet Exchange.PIE tallied up the damage at an estimated $2.5 million and intends for the FBI to investigate the incident as an act of cyber-terrorism.

Supposedly the trigger for the attack was a celebration of Korea's March 1st independence day, as well as in retaliation for criticism of figure skater Kim Yu-Na's performance at the Olympics. While the typical internet responses, such a Japanese counterinvasion of Korean message boards, occurred, a few other 2channers rallied a strange, positively-twisted version of "Pay it Forward," by putting together a relief fund for victims of the recent Chilean earthquake.

I don't really see how the two incidents are in any way related, but a video released on Youtube (that you can see below) proclaims it as "The Japanese Way."
