Kung Fu Hustle: Axe Kickin' Edition coming at the end of July

For those of you who are fans of Stephen Chow's films (and you really should be), his film Kung Fu Hustle will be getting a re-release on July 31st with a special edition. The "Axe Kickin' Edition" will contain the film itself in 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen, and according to Kung Fu Cult Cinema:
Extras will include a Comedy Central interview with Stephen Chow, outtakes and bloopers, a storyboard comparison, and three behind the scenes featurettes on the costume design, production design, and Yuen Wo Ping and the fight scene choreography.
For those of you who haven't seen the film, it tells the story of a 1930's Shanghai apartment complex. The Axe Gang is trying to take over the area, but the landlords and some of the tenents fight them off, unleashing their inner kung-fu powers. From this point, the gang starts using hired mercenaries with kung-fu powers to take down the strong fighters at the apartment building. There's more plot there, but that's the basic premise. It follows typical Chow style, focusing a lot on humor and slapstick comedy, and is totally worth a watch. The DVD will be priced at $19.94, with no word of a Blu-Ray version of the special edition making the rounds. The original release of the DVD should be available for $14.99 and the Blu-Ray version is available for $24.99.
