Get excited, because the trailer to this fantastic--or fantastically bad--film will be arriving October 17 during the Max Pane movie. Yes, the wait might seem like forever, but lucky for you we have a ninja hidden somewhere at FOX Studios that leaked some pictures of the beast itself. What you probably already noticed is that these pictures feature everyone’s favorite Namik, Piccolo; or Piccolo’s father if you want to get technical. He looks like Piccolo, but he also looks a little like Garlic Jr, or a vampire from a Blade movie. Either way, more green please!

Now, the internet so far has been eeeeeeeeeeextreamly negative about these pictures so far; and I’m sure you guys will feel the same way. But not me, oh no I’m eating this all up. Anime film adoptions don’t have to be perfect, they don’t have to be the same, and things can be different; that’s just the nature of this business. If things end up sucking, then someday, maybe in 10 years, or 100, someone will make another adaptation. That might be worse, or the best thing in the word; that's what makes this great. I have high hopes, but won’t make any judgments against this film until I see the trailer. Until then.

Honestly, the only thing I care about is whether or not they'll make Goku an angsty teen or not. Cause seriously, the only thing that always made DB bearable during its worst parts was Goku's carefree and happy-go-lucky attitude. I'm actually shocked that they haven't shown a picture of a smiling Goku.

If I find out that they changed his personality, I will never watch this movie or even go near it; to spare myself the pain.

You know, this is the kind of thing that happens to every fandom... It's called the "Ruined Forever" effect. Every thing that deviates ever so slightly from the established canon, or that tries to reinvent the original concept by changing things around, is the one thing that will cause fanboys to yell out that "[Object} will/has ruin/ruined [insert object of fanboyism here] forever!"

Piccolo looks like the that monster from the movie Wishmaster. Honestly though I'm not even waiting for the trailer I already know this is gonna suck. The sad part is that various news sites have been saying Fox is already thinking about doing a sequel before the first is even done similar to Lord of the Rings where they shot 3 movies all at once and then released them one by one. I hope they do that just so when the first comes out and bombs they realize how much of a mistake it was to screw with someone so dear to so many people.

Maybe Piccolo being his actual colour would ruin use of green-screen for all those crazy, over the top CGI special effects this movie is no doubt going to be splattered with.

Either way, sad to see Piccolo isn't his usual veggie-green, but I agree with EvilThoughts most of all: I'm most curious about their treatment of Goku's personality. Thus far, not too impressed... but who knows, right?

Ugh this reminds me of what happened with the Dead or Alive movie. ANd let me say this to some of you people ripping at the fanboys.

When you make something off of a well established and EXTREMELY popular IP. What would make you think that changing it will make it good???? It alienates your built in fanbase and your jilted fanboys will poison everyone else.

Look at every movie that was made off a popular IP. The ones that were sucessful with good reviews are the ones that don't rock the friggin boat. Creative freedom is just code for "screw the source material".

Hollywood has no love for anime or video games. They have shown this numerous times. Its all fluff to them, they dont' care about being faithful. Its why we as fans need to stand up more and make ourselves heard.

Spider-man 3 and X-men 3 shows what happens when you forsake the core story. Ya get crap, so..so much crap.

Extend your budget by a few hundred thousand or whatever it costs to digitally re-tint all footage of Piccolo to being saturated green.
