I mentioned in my Oguri Shun tribute that I don't really need an idol to be ultra-talented to catch my attention. After all, idols are there to be pretty -- the talent is just a bonus! Yamashita Tomohisa, or Yamapi as he is known to his fans, is one of those idols/singers who a lot of fans love to bitch about, saying he is a terrible actor and untalented. I don't fully agree, but maybe it's because every time I look at the guy I get weak in the knees.

Yamapi's been with the Johnny's boy band NEWS for  six years, acts in j-dramas (you may remember me drooling my way through Buzzer Beat, due in no small part to him) and is about to launch his first solo tour, called Short But Sweet.
