In case you aren't familiar with this psychological drama, Liar Game stars Toda Erika and the rather scrumptious Matsuda Shota and tells the story of a simple college student (played by Toda) who suddenly finds herself in possession of a hundred million yen, which is given to her to force her to participate in what's called the Liar Game. The aim is to trick another player out of their hundred million yen and leave them in debt. Toda's character loses, but finds help in the form of Shinichi, an accomplished swindler played by Matsuda, who makes the art of conning people look sexier than ever.
Long story short, the drama is good stuff (as is the Shinobu Kaitani manga it's adapted from), and Japan wants more. Tokyograph reported great news for fans of the show today: not only is a second season in the works, but a feature length film as well. No dates have been announced yet, but Fuji Tv has launched a mobile site called Liar Game Project that will feature info about the manga, drama and upcoming movie, in addition to allowing registrants to participate in a new game that relates to the main story. I haven't completed the first season of the show yet, but now I feel like I should hop to it. Anyone excited for this?
