It seems the folk at Otakon have been busy nattering away at the panels, as we've got word of two new acquisitions. The first, and perhaps less exciting of the two, is that Aquarion EVOL has been licensed by Funimation. However, the license is only for streaming, so it's unknown at the moment as to whether the show will receive a physical release or not. Still, it's good news for those of you that fancy watching some mech action.
The other license comes from the folk at NISA, who have surprisingly licensed a particular famous anime about sea kittens. That's right, the horror-mystery Umineko no Naku Koro ni will be heading over the pond, with a Blu-ray release scheduled for this December. You may be acquainted with Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, another visual novel-turned-anime created by the same developers, 07th Expansion.
Perhaps we'll see some more licenses uncovered at Otakon, but these aren't bad by any stretch of the imagination! Now then, who is going to go for that Blu-ray?
