Licensing rescued: Funimation saves Pretear

Back from the hellish depths of ADV Film's pit of former titles, Pretear rises from the ashes with the help of FUNimation. Based on a manga created by Junichi Sato, and Kaori Narurse, the story kind of creates its own take on the premise of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Except if Snow White was a girl who ends up having a few issues resulting from her father getting remarried, and the seven dwarves are knights from another world. She is also able to grant powers to the knights by merging with them, so that they can save their world from an evil princess.

Now that sounds like the Snow White that I remember as a child (Actually, no it doesn't.). There could be a chance that this 2001 series could go well with fans of magical girl shows, based on the premise shown so far.

Besides the rights for home release, FUNimation has also obtained the rights for merchandising, broadcast, and streaming. Now there is no excuse to miss out on all 13 episodes of this series.
