Mobile Suit Gundam Twilight Axis

Look forward to more Universal Century anime goodness this June with Gundam Twilight Axis

Will 2017 be the Year of the Gundam?

With Gundam Thunderbolt's second season launching on GundamInfo, Sunrise revealed that they have another Gundam project in store for us. Just like the current Universal Century show, their new title, an adaptation of the Light Novel Gundam Twilight Axis, will receive the net anime treatment in June; however this upcoming title will premiere on the Gundam Fan Club Website.

The show and source material are set in a couple months after Gundam UC as we focus on a group exploring the remains of Axis. With the story focusing on two former Zeon members, it sounds like we're in for an interesting perspective in this side story. Seeing that Arc Performace of Arpeggio of Blue Steel and Koujirou Nakamura (Blessing of the Campanella's Screenplay, Gundam ZZ Side Story: Mirage of Zeon's Scenario) worked on the original light novel, there's a slight chance that summer season might be another great moment for Gundam fans.

Since we're getting more Universal Century Gundam side story adaptations, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a Crossbone Gundam and/or Hathaway's Flash anime. I guess I'll just have to settle with their depiction in Super Robot Wars V, which has been nice so far. As we wait for June to arrive, you can check out Twilight Axis' trailer and staff below.

So is anyone looking forward to more Gundam this summer?
