Madoka films get some Claris and Kalafina loving

1:00 AM on 07.12.2012 // Elliot Gay

Love it or hate it, there's no denying that Shaft's take on the magical girl formula, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, made quite a stir in the anime community. I personally loved it, but I recognize that there's a group of people out there who don't. Opinions are crazy, aren't they?

Anyhow, Madoka is getting two films this year within a week of each other. The Beginning Story hits theaters on October 6 and is followed by The Eternity Story on October 13. We still don't know much about the content of the films, but we at least know who'll be singing the theme songs.

Both Claris and Kalafina are returning to lend their talents to the films. Claris will be heading up the first film while Kalafina handles the second. Considering the type of music both groups are known for, I'm imagining The Eternity Story will probably fall on the more depressing end of things. How surprising!

In any case, I understand that this news is a week old, but it's still worth reporting on.

Madoka lovers sound off below!
