Now here's something that should happen more often. Geeks and otaku are far too often pigeonholed into nasty stereotypes of insular deviants incapable of empathy. Not true at all! We're humans, like everyone else, except for those hyper-intelligent cats. They're not humans.
Anyway, Anime USA's hooking up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to make one girl's dreams come true. They'll be taking Jocelyn, a seriously ill young lady from New Jersey, to this year's Anime USA convention as a VIP, and she'll get to watch, meet and hang out with her favorite musical act, Matenrou Opera. She'll be watching the concert from VIP seating, stay at a sweet hotel for the duration, and get exclusive, high-level access to the whole con.
I've always liked Make-A-Wish. That they're helping out a young otaku only makes it all the better.
