Make sure you catch Poppy Hill when it hits your town

You'll be sorry if you don't!

It's always a bit of a thing anytime anime plays in my hometown of Chicago. It's just something that doesn't happen enough. So this time you're getting a little warning, courtesy of the GKids Facebook page, on the scheduled showings of Studio Ghibli's From Up on Poppy Hill.

I've had the pleasure of catching this fine film, and can tell you that you will definitely not be disappointed. The US dub includes some heavy hitters like Gillian Anderson, Christina Hendrix, and even Ron Howard. This alone is worthy of another viewing.

The schedule as ANN posted is:

March 15

  • New York - FC Center
  • New York - Film Society of Lincoln Center

March 22

  • Los Angeles - The Landmark

March 29

  • Chicago - Landmark's Century Centre Cinema - Yup, I'll be there
  • San Francisco - Embarcadero Center Cinema
  • Palo Alto - CineArts @ Palo Alto Square
  • Berkeley - Shattuck Cinemas
  • Boston - Kendall Square Cinema
  • Seattle - Harvard Exit Theatre
  • Minneapolis - Uptown Theater
  • San Diego - Landmark's Hillcrest Cinemas
  • Long Island - Cinema Arts Centre
