Many new UK anime licenses revealed at MCM Expo photo

The London MCM Expo certainly doesn't get the level of news we have come to expect from the big American conventions, but Manga Entertainment and MVM Entertainment have decided to try and break that trend by announcing some of their latest acquisitions for later release in the UK. The new licenses from MVM are as follows:

  • .Hack//Quantum
  • Bodacious Space Pirates
  • Dreameater Mary
  • Mayo Chiki!
  • Rosario+Vampire (Seasons 1 and 2)
  • Rozen Maiden Ouvertüre
  • Shakugan no Shana (Season 2)

With the following coming from Manga Entertainment:

  • Black Lagoon (Seasons 1 and 2)
  • Bleach (Season 9)
  • Dragon Ball Z (Season 1)
  • Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt
  • Sengoku Basara (Season 2)
  • Squid Girl (Season 1)
  • Spice and Wolf (Season 2)
  • Strike Witches (Season 2)
  • The World God Only Knows (Seasons 1 and 2)
  • Welcome to the Space Show

Not bad! I'm sure there's something in there that'll grab your interest, though be aware that these titles will see release at varying times from next month to the start of next year. We also got to find out that the Tiger and Bunny movie will be getting a limited showing in England and Scotland on September 22nd, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Insert coin to play: 100 Yen film is out on DVD

I am feel ashamed that I've never gotten the chance to go to the arcades like most people in my age group. Instead of hearing me whine about a great era that I missed out upon, let's rejoice over the idea that 100 Yen: The Ja...

Evangelion 3.0 made a whole lot of money in theaters

Say what you will about Evangelion 3.0 (I personally dug it), it sure as hell made a lot of money in theaters. With the DVD/BD now available in stores, theater showings have officially ceased, leaving the total box office gro...

Surprise: Sentai grabs Majestic Prince and Shining Hearts

In case you haven't noticed, I was actually being sarcastic about my reaction to Sentai's two new licenses. In their never ending battle to license everything, they are using their preemptive licensing strike to grab Maj...

Giga License Breaker: Aniplex rescues Gurren Lagann

It shouldn't be a surprise to people that the Gurren Lagann TV series would get revived by Aniplex USA, since they were the ones who licensed the two movies in North America. Knowing who the hell Aniplex is, they pl...
