Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype may actually get released photo

File this one under the rumor mill.

Some of you may be aware of the 100,000 Strong for Mega Man Legends 3 campaign that's been running since the game was formerly canceled last year. Right now, the group stands at 89,265 people, but they've been steadily growing since their inception. Compared to other fan run movements, this one is pretty cool in that they do contests and continue to create new designs over at the old Development Room for the game.

Reika Morishita, singer of the Mega Man Legends theme songs "Another Sun" and "Your Wind is Blowing", has had close ties to the group for a while now. Apparently at the end of July she'll be releasing a reprisal album featuring the Legends music and if she manages to sell 20,000 copies of the CD, Capcom may very well release the Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype (a brief prologue/demo). According to the 100,000 Strong group that had a meeting with the singer, Morishita has a lot of connections within Capcom but there are no guarantees.

I'm incredibly skeptical of this. I'd like to believe that this is all true but a part of me fears that it's just a marketing ploy to sell an album. The cancelation of Mega Man Legends 3 hurt me more than any other cancelation in the past ten years, so believe me when I say that I want this to be true. I just have a hard time biting.

Still, I'll be keeping my eyes on this one in the hope that something actually happens.

If nothing else, go check out their official Facebook page and lend them your support.
