Miku turning five, releasing two new albums photo

Wow, five years old. 2007 feels like such a long time ago, but the time is coming. Everyone's favorite breakout virtual diva, Hatsune Miku, turns the ripe old age of five this August. That's practically a Queen's Jubilee* in internet time, and as the reigning queen of synthetic pop stars, that merits a bit of celebration.

Crypton Future Media won't hesitate to oblige this year, and is planning to release two brand new-ish "Best Of" albums to commemorate the occasion in collaboration with Sony Music and NicoNico's masters at Dwango. That last partner makes sense, as there's no question that Miku and her Vocaloid ilk would be nothing without Japan's nerdy Youtube-alike.

As for the albums themselves, they'll be titled “Hatsune Miku 5th Birthday Best ~memories~” and “Hatsune Miku 5th Birthday Best ~impacts~” and will feature a wide range of the diva's most popular songs (among them the ones that garnered more than a million views on Nico Nico Douga), and some of 2012's most current jams. Two completely new songs, titled “Anniversary Song” and “Birthday Song“ will be present as well.

A complete tracklist isn't available yet, though the total song count will number nineteen for each album (some will be shared between both). Confirmed titles are listed below, and the cover art is in the gallery.

How about you lot? Interested in celebrating your other queen's birthday? And since Vocaloid Week at the Daily Dose of Music is coming up soon, why not comment and tell us all about your favorite Miku track?

Miku's Domino's tie-in made more legit by a foreigner
