Up above there is a clip of the new theme song to the new film Gake no Ue no Ponyo (Ponyo On The Cliff) from the old anime film director Hayao Miyazaki. Sung by one tiny little girl and two rather conspicuous older men in black suits, I must admit that this could be the first Ghibli song I dislike. It has the usual sweping strings and jaunty feel, but the lyrical style is a little too childlike. Then again, that's probably the idea. This is a children's movie afterall.
There is also a new site for the movie, but so far there is little more than a few photos to look at. This single is available now and the film is set for a summer 2008 release.

The song, i agree, isn't ghibli's best either. In short, movie needs more Howl.
