Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ Comes to Blu-Ray, But is it Really Anime?

Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ Comes to Blu-Ray, But is it Really Anime? photo

All jokes about the worst anime opening of all time aside, Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ will be the newest edition to the Gundam Blu-Ray lineup.  Several other Gundam series have already seen the 1080p treatment, as the Zeta Gundam and Gundam OO tv series along with the feature films Char's Counterattack and Formula 91.

The set is going to be released in two memorial box sets for the 47 episode series.  They'll be 5 discs a piece and cost you 35,000 yen, so just over $700 for the complete set.  Even though they'll work in your American Blu-Ray player, don't expect there to be English subtitles as the series is one of four television series that isn't licensed in the U.S.  If your Japanese is up to par, love anime that claims it isn't anime, and have over $700, you can go ahead and pre-order the box sets at CD Japan.
