As we already knew, everyone's favorite singing idol in a box, Hatsune Miku, is officialy leaving her voice-only confines and moving to a new 3D home on the Sony PSP. And hey, there's always room for a refresher, especially when there are now more details and multiple new costumes to gawk at.
The new game Hatsune Miku: Project Diva looks to be a pretty typical rhythm format. Various buttons shoot down across the screen where they meet up with black boxes on the other side. When they met, you press. The black boxes also have timers that count down to help out with the timing.
It also looks like the entire cast of Vocaloid will be showing up, with no shortage of alternate costumes available. You'll be able to build your own little room to live in. There's also a small Idolmaster element to it where the characters do some para-para-style dancing in the background while the buttons fall. Of course all of the music features the signature synthesized vocals of the Vocaloid software.
Perhaps most amazing is the fact that you'll also be able to create your own songs and stages, setting up the button patterns, how they flow around the screen and the various background environments. Oh, and the music? You own MP3s!
The game hits Japan July 2nd. And yeah, you're probably not going to see it released overseas, so I hope you're already made plans to import! Check out the gallery for a look at a few of the new costumes and characters.
