Namco planning more remakes of older Tales gamesTales of Innocence R for the Vita was a pleasant surprise. An up-port/remake of an older DS title, Innocence R did a lot to fix my major problems with the original game, making it a more enjoyable experience all around. It actually felt like a mothership Tales title, which was something the original release failed at. It looks like Innocence R might not be the last remake we see coming out of Namco Bandai. Tales series producer Hideo Baba has stated to Digital Spy that the plan is to re-release older titles so as to bring in new fans and keep the origins of the franchise fresh in people's minds. I imagine these remakes/re-releases would see improvements not unlike what Innocence received; improved visuals, interface and general polish. I would love to see the 2D Tales games from the PS2 era get some more love. They were fantastic playing games that never made it west due to a variety of extremely silly reasons. A second look at Legendia could also prove to be pretty fruitful as well. How do you Tales fans feel about this? Considering it doesn't seem to be cutting into the mothership series, I can't imagine too many folks will be up in arms about this. [via Digital Spy] Did you know?
