It's not quite over for the Type-Moon's favorite franchise. Between the Unlimited Blade Works movie, a rumored remake of Tsukihime, and the ongoing adaptations of Kara no Kyoukai, the so-called "Nasu-verse" is going strong. And it looks to be branching out beyond visual novels and fighting games, with the new announcement of Fate/Extra, a dungeon-crawler style RPG for the PSP.
Scans of Famitsu reveal the game's new look, a marked departure from Takeshi Takeuchi's art style, and its features, such as having a selectable male or female protagonist, dungeon-crawling, and "classroom life" sequences. Also notable are appearances by Saber, Lancer, a new character to play Rider, and the queen of absolute territory, Rin Tohsaka. Hit the gallery for the full scan.
Given the information on hand, I'm getting kind of a Persona vibe off of this, and that's not a bad thing at all, since an RPG would certainly have a better chance of getting across the ocean than another straight visual novel. What are you thinking, Fate fans?
