New Code Geass: Akito the Exiled trailer is jazzy, hectic

3:00 PM on 05.07.2012

A new promotional trailer for the upcoming Code Geass: Akito the Exiled theatrical OVA was released this week. Directed by Kazuki Akane (Escaflowne: The Movie, Noein: To Your Other Self) with character designs by CLAMP and music by Ichiko Hashimoto (RahXephon), the film will premiere in selected Japanese theaters on August 4.

According to the project's site, actor Miyu Irino (Anohana, MSG 00) will play protagonist Akito Hyuga. Yoko Hikasa (Infinite Stratos) and Maaya Sakamoto --the voice of Mari Illustrious in Evangelion-,  will join him as the voices of Ayano and Layla. The OVA will presumably be four episodes long, but reports have not yet been confirmed.

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled is a side-story taking place in the year 2017 a.t.b, at around the time that Lelouch sets out to organize his Black Knights rebellion army. E.U allied nations are at the verge of defeat by the Holy Britannian Empire, until a new squad of talented young pilots joins the battle. Chances of survival are slim!

This Attack on Titan mock film poster is pretty sweet

I have very little faith in the Japanese film industry's ability to make a decent live action adaptation of Attack on Titan. Very few studios here could supply the budget required to make it work. This is especially the case ...
