February's issue of Shogakukan's Coro Coro Comics magazine has new detials about the latest Pokémon movie, Pocket Monster XY: Hakai no Mayu (Pokemon XY: Cocoon of Destruction). The summer flick opens in Japan on July 19th, and you can bet it'll hit elsewhere shortly after. Hopefully.
Coro Coro's article hypes up a "magnificent battle" between the likes of legendaries Xerneas and Yveltal, and will feature Mega Evolutions and gaggles of legendary and mythical Pokémon. Fans in Japan will also be able to participate in a vote for the gift that will accompany advanced ticket purchases. You can choose from Jirachi, Victini, Manaphy, and Darkrai, all of whom will appear in the short before the film, "Pikachu, What's This Key For?" starring everyone's favorite electric mouse.
I haven't seen nearly any of the Pokémon movies aside from the first three that released back in the heyday of the franchise, but I'm still interested. I suppose once you're a Pokémon Master of cards and otherwise, you're always invested in the story. And that dangly key Pokémon Klefki is somehow involved. I'm interested. It's like, a keyring. A keyring.
