New Fate/stay night film gets a solid release date photo

The new Fate/stay night film will be following Type-Moon's Unlimited Blade Works storyline. According to ANN, this will be revealed in the upcoming issue of NewType. Now we know that the film has a date of January 23, 2010. On that day, it will kick off in about a dozen or so theaters in Japan.

Studio Deen will be on the project, and it seems that the whole voice cast from the anime series Fate/stay night will be returning for the movie. I'll leave it up to you to decide if the former is a good thing or not.

Wow, we've come a long way since the original eroge, haven't we?

Heavens Feel storyline with the normal end is my favorite, anyway, can't wait the film
Unlimited Bladeworks is the fan favorite, so it's not surprising that it would go down this ending.

Besides.

Rin is Win.
>>Rin is Win

Seconded.
I don't know exactly what you mean by "come a long way" since seeing as the original game was still the best version of UBW (as compared to say, KnK, where the movies just blow everything else out of the water).

In any case, my only concern is the length. How the heck do they plan on fitting the whole UBW route into one movie? Even if it were 3 hours, you'd still have to cut out a LOT of awesome material... and that'd suck. Hopefully they're either going to make multiple and break it up that way or they're trying to beat Stephen King's "The Stand" for the world record of longest single movie...

@Kageryu: Actually, idk why really but over on Beast's Lair Heaven's Feel seems to be the favorite. In this case I think it's just a case of them deciding going with the next route is just the logical choice. So long as they step up the production values and quality from the anime and they manage to at least do an overall good job with the plot, I'll be happy even if they cut out a little bit here and there (THE FIGHT SCENES ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE. Hear me Studio DEEN?? - that goes for the date scene as well).

And if by any chance they're awesome enough to put in the "On one condition" choice scene with Lancer, Shirou, and Rin, I'll go so far as to import copies for my friends.
I agree with the above sentiments, can't wait for the movie, love fate/stay night ;)
I think I'm gonna like it more than the anime. Archer was my favorite character along with Rin and the Unlimited Blade Works scenario looks more fun than the one used for the anime.
Personally I loved all of the arc's a ton and they were all incredible but if I have to pic only one I would say that Unlimited Blade Works just slightly eeks it's way out front.

Like some others here I am a bit hesitant about the movie. In my opinion they should not be doing a movie. It really should just be a complete 2nd season as there is so much incredible content in Unlimited Blade Works and there is no way they will be able to fit it all into a single movie and it's gonna be hard for them to choose what to keep and what to cut.

Aside from that I'm sure that the movie will look incredible and will have some insane fight scenes but they really need to get the story right and I'm not so sure they can in the time frame of a movie.
