Toshiaki Baba has revealed in an interview with Great Mechanics magazine that there will soon be a new Gundam AGE project released into the wild, and that it is currently in the early stages of development. This project is specifically aimed at the fans who feel that the new Gundam series is too childish, so you know what that means!
Apparently the staff working on this project plan to make it 'thoroughly dark', a throwback to the events we've seen thus far in the Universal Century timeline of the Gundam series. They are pretty famous for being relentless in killing off characters, so it's something to look forward to if you feel that Flit's adventures are a little too upbeat and colourful.
I'm really digging Gundam AGE myself, but I can't say I'd turn down a side-series that mimics the original Gundam anime. The project is likely to be set elsewhere in the A.G. timeline rather than directly involving the cast of AGE, but we'll have to wait and see. So, who's ready for more space drama?
