A new K-ON! CD is coming out, entitled Bando Yarou! (Let's Make A Band), which will feature a mix of some of the popular songs and background music from the show. Great, a compilation CD -- what's so great about that? Well, as the CD title implies, it's here to help you make a band.

Packed with a 164-page booklet, which features everything from new 4-koma strips from the manga author to sheet music for nine of the songs from the show, including titles like "Cagayake Girls!" and others, written by the actual musicians who worked on the songs.

The album will feature some 109 tracks (all that background music really adds up), and will also feature individual instrument parts for "Cagayake Girls!" so that you can use it to practice with and make your debut at your high school's next Battle of the Bands. Rock out with some girl's love power, and you're sure to beat everyone!

Once it hits shelves on September 2nd, I fully expect it to be one of the on-display items over at Kinokuniya's booth at New York Anime Fest. I noticed they had a lot of musical books from Nodame Cantibile sitting at their booth. Even though they were shoved off to the side, K-ON! is a much hotter property right now, and it has a wider possible audience.

Would any of you pick this up?

Multitracks? I may have some use for that.
Hope to see some real life girlband reaching success in the future, then saying it was this that motivated them to play.
Can we get a Japanator band, perhaps?
this would be grand
