Despite some of the mistakes the company has made in the past generation of gaming, I'm still a Square Enix fan. Games like The World Ends With You serve as a reminder that the Square of old hasn't yet disappeared into the lifestream. TWEWY is probably my favorite DS game and I've been waiting for a sequel for what seems like forever. Looks like I might not have to wait much longer though.
Square Enix opened up a new teaser site today that pretty much speaks for itself. The "Subaseka" in the URL is a shortened version of the Japanese title, Subarashiki Kono Sekai. Moreover, the silhouetted skyline in the background is that of Shibuya, the location used in the first game. If you change the date on your computer, the teaser site plays a different piece of music everyday this week; it's very clearly a mix between Calling and Twister.
The GREE logo at the bottom of the site might be cause for concern, but it's also part of SE's standard social tags that they use for their sites. My fingers are crossed that this isn't just an iOS port or some cheap mobile game. Granted, SE's Japanese Twitter account tweeted a link to the site saying "Smartphone and PC", so who knows what this could all mean.
Edit: It would appear that the smartphone and PC comment was in reference to the site not being viewable on normal cell phones.
Please be real. For the love of all that is good in this world, please be real.
