It looks like we just might have a new Super Robot Wars game on our hands, or maybe not. Showcased in the newest issue of Famitsu magazine is a new SRW game called Super Robot Gakuen. First of all it does not follow the Super Robot Wars ‘insert random letter here’ title formula, so we know something is different from the get go. It also states that the genre of this game will be adventure, and not strategy.

A basic synopsis of the plot so far is that aliens have invaded earth so much that a simulator has been created to help train new cadets to help fight off this constant invasion. This simulator has the data of the many different robots, and pilots that have been sent in to defend the earth in the past. The main story revolves around you attending this school, beating missions in the simulator to better yourself. It’s like Ender’s Game, but with giant robots.

The best part about this game is the series list, which is absolutely gigantic. It is pretty much a combination of SRW J + W + K, which just might mean lot’s of reused sprites, but let’s hope not. This new format might be a good change of pace, but many of us just want a traditional SRW game. Check out the series list after the jump.
