Is there any surprise here? Viz drops a ton of new releases, and they take over every spot on the top ten list -- save for #10 itself. Kodansha's Sailor Moon holds strong here. But taking a look at the rest of the list, it's all the titles we expect: Bleach and Bakuman, Naruto and Black Bird. Nothing too exciting this week, but let's take a look:

1. Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal Vol. 2 - Week 1
2. Bleach Vol. 52 - Week 1
3. Bleach Vol. 53 - Week 1
4. Naruto Vol. 59 - Week 5
5. Bakuman Vol. 17 - Week 1
6. Black Bird Vol. 15 - Week 1
7. Neon Genesis Evangelion Vol. 13 - Week 2
8. Sakura Hime: The Legend of Princess Sakura Vol. 9 - Week 1
9. Vampire Knight Vol. 15 - Week 4
10. Sailor Moon Vol. 8 - Week 4

The interesting thing is that Yu-Gi-Oh! managed to top out Bleach when both debuted this week. It may be that some people are splitting their buys between the two volumes released, or that Naruto and Bakuman cannibalize some of the audience from Bleach. It'll take a few weeks, but I do wonder if we're seeing the popularity of Bleach fade.

One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda is sick, wish him well

Eiichiro Oda is sick! That's news when you're the creator of One Piece, the biggest manga in the world (and in the running for biggest comic in the world). And it's doubly news if you're sick enough that you ha...

This Attack on Titan mock film poster is pretty sweet

I have very little faith in the Japanese film industry's ability to make a decent live action adaptation of Attack on Titan. Very few studios here could supply the budget required to make it work. This is especially the case ...

Tokyo ESP manga to get an anime adaptation

I have no idea if anybody out there is reading it, but Hajime Segawa's  Tokyo ESP is a lot of fun. The first arc stars a high school girl named Rinka, a poor girl who ends up developing super powers that allow her t...
