New Yotsuba Fuka and Danbo figures sell out to 7-11

New Yotsuba Fuka and Danbo figures sell out to 7-11 photo

As an old geezer with fond memories of biking to the 7-11 on hot summer days just to pig out on cheap candy and load up on Garbage Pail Kids, I'm always a bit taken aback when I see how huge it is in Japan. In my brain, 7-11 is as American as apple pie and shirtless rednecks running through the bushes on TV.

Nevertheless, I find their various marketing tie-ins to be pretty cool. Like these 7-11 branded Fuka and Danbo figures. Fuka is looking really sharp in a simple 7-11 t-shirt (two versions, white and yellow) and blazing green skirt, and Danbo is looking, well, exactly like Danbo only with a 7-11 box.

I suppose that if I lived in Japan and was surrounded by 7-11's that I might not find these quite as alluring. I can't really imagine wanting a figure with a Holiday or Spur logo on it. Also, why the hell did they choose Fuka over Yotsuba herself? I mean, she already has green hair!

Anyway, the figures will be available in November. Fuka, at 185mm tall will run 2,940 yen, and the 130mm Danbo will be 2,205. Obviously, these are limited editions, so pre-order now!
